Each year, about 92 million tons of textile and clothing wastes are generated globally. Nearly 370 thousand tons in Korea alone, and the country is the 5th largest exporter of waste clothes in the world. Wastes that were exported in this manner go to developing countries and often incinerated or landfilled. To fundamentally address this issue, PURPLY INC. is collaborating with producers across the country to collect and process waste textile mateirals - to turn them into premium recycled fabric. Fabrics made in such a way are turned into sustainable garments, contributing to the circular ecosystem of the fashion industry.
